Track record, not just titles
Conecto, SMS PASSCODE, board and investor work — each case is structured around situation, my role, key decisions and outcome.
Conecto — turnaround, growth and exit
After several difficult years, I returned as an investor and chairman with a mandate to change direction. We changed the leadership team, recruited a new CEO, rebuilt the board and created alignment among employees and shareholders. Along the way, the company saw significant growth in revenue, profit margin and employee satisfaction (eNPS) — the specific figures are confidential, but the improvement was substantial. Four years later, Conecto was sold to Danoffice IT.

Tobias NawrockiCEO, Conecto A/S · Reported to David directly · LinkedIn recommendation, January 2026“David may be one of the most cheerful and optimistic people I have ever known. He brings loads of energy and positivity to everyone around him, and I can't imagine anyone leaving a meeting with David without being not only more optimistic but also having learned a thing or two, which most likely will help you in business and life!
However, you should never let his easy-going nature fool you ;-) David is a professional with an almost unlimited amount of experience and knowledge, which he actively puts to work to secure the absolutely best performance from his team in order to shape and grow the business to the next level.
In 2020 I joined Conecto A/S as CEO (David was Chairman of the Board). During an intense period of 3-4 years, we went from a critical turn-around of the business to a successful sale of the company. During that period it became crystal-clear to me that David sets the bar extremely high, but also that he definitely ‘walks the talk’ and is always prepared to invest the required energy and time to help the team succeed!”
SMS PASSCODE — from Danish startup to international security business with nine-figure revenue
As co-founder and CEO, I helped build SMS PASSCODE and held primary responsibility for its international expansion. The business grew through a global partner and distribution network with activities across Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Australia, serving customers in more than 50 countries and winning 5 Gazelle awards in a row. The company was acquired by CensorNet in 2016; the technology later became part of Entrust.

Investor & board profile
Since 2017, board work, investing and strategic advisory have been my primary professional platform. I have invested in around 20 companies — including investments connected with EIFO — and worked closely with owners and CEOs across several industries.
Zentura A/S — professionalising an owner-led business
Situation: Zentura was dependent on its founder and majority shareholder and lacked the structure needed to support further growth.
My role: Joined as chairman in April 2023.
Decisions: A new strategy, a board composed to support it, and the recruitment of a new CEO to execute it.
What this demonstrates at board level: The ability to professionalise governance and reduce key-person dependency without losing the company's identity along the way.
Permido A/S — a spin-out that had to stand on its own
Situation: Permido was spun out of Zentura A/S — a parallel to how SMS PASSCODE was once spun out of Conecto — and needed to establish its own identity and direction.
The Permido software had reached a level of market maturity where we, as the board, identified an opportunity to spin out the activity and set up a new company around it. The purpose was to give the product dedicated, focused resources aimed at increasing value creation. At the same time, Permido had moved away from Zentura A/S's core business, and a spin-out could in that way unlock greater potential for both companies.
My role: Joined as chairman at inception in July 2025.
Decisions: A new strategy and the recruitment of a CEO to execute it, independent of the parent company.
What this demonstrates at board level: Experience guiding a company through a spin-out — a situation that demands both strategic clarity and rebuilding leadership from day one.
